Albomay d.o.o. is the only foundry in Slovenia specializing in the processing of aluminum chips. A major characteristic of our products is the high percentage of recycled aluminum, around 90%. The company’s vision is to become a leader in the collection and processing of scrap metals, contributing to a circular economy and environmental protection through the use of new technologies.

Sustainability is a core value at Albomay d.o.o. Beyond economic indicators, it encompasses long-term care for the environment, society, and future generations. In 2023, we decided to calculate our company’s carbon footprint for the year 2022.

To gain a comprehensive understanding of our environmental impact, Albomay d.o.o. conducted a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for five of our aluminum alloys. This calculation enables us to make better decisions and move towards sustainable business practices by identifying areas for further improvement.

• EN AB-43000 AlSi10Mg: 0,668 kgCO2eq/kg

The scope of the analysis is “cradle to gate,” with the declared unit being 1 kilogram of secondary aluminum.

At Albomay d.o.o., we went a step further by creating an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

In November 2023, we underwent an EPD audit conducted by Bureau Veritas HSE Denmark, the EPD Lead verifier under Bureau Veritas Certification Sweden AB accredited by SWEDAC. We opted for one EPD covering multiple products, with the “worst-case” result.
